Boys Win in Extra Innings!
Dedham Boys Get Extra-Inning Win

Kyle Sidaway was masterful on the mound and the defense behind him made all the plays to aid the big win over arch-rival Veazie.

Kyle went all 7 innings giving up just 1 earned run and 3 hits.  He struck out 9 and walked 1 batter.  Defensively for Dedham big plays in the field were made by Rowan, Gavin, Emery, Walter, and Kyle to keep the Vikings off the basepaths.  They only had 4 batters reach base all day!

Unfortunately for Dedham, the Demon bats were silent most of the day against some excellent Veazie pitching.  The boys got a run in the 3rd inning when Rowan Tate reached on a throwing error by the pitcher; he later scored on a triple to RF by Kyle.  After Veazie tied the game in the 4th, Dedham scratched out the go-ahead run in the top of the 6th.  Aiden Dunn singled, stole 2nd and 3rd, and with heads-up base running scored on a wild pitch.

Veazie came right back in the bottom of the 6th to score the tying run on a single, error, stolen base and ground out.

To extra innings we went...Josh Fish led with a walk.  Gilman pinch ran and stole 2nd base.  He moved to 3rd on a passed ball.  Garrison walked and stole 2nd.  Rowan hit a ball back to the pitcher who went to first while Gilman slid under the tag at home to put the Demons back on top.

In the bottom of the 7th Kyle induced 2 ground ball outs to Walter and himself and struck out the last batter to get the big win.

The only other hit for Dedham in the game (besides Kyle's triple and Aiden's single) was a nice line single by Rowan in the 5th inning but he was left stranded.

Great job on the mound for Kyle who picks up his 4th win of the season!

Another oustanding effort by Aiden Dunn behind the plate as he stopped everything in the dirt and called a great game.

We have a double-header vs. Greenbush on Weds., May 29th at 3:30.  If Dedham wins at least 1 of those 2 games, they'll finish in first place and host any upcoming playoff games.

Good luck!
