Lions Outlast Demons The game started off as a pitching duel as runs were hard to come by; the Lamoine team scored first but Dedham answered that with a run of their own in the top of the inning. Exciting game ensued as both teams worked the counts and the two teams were dead locked going into the 5th inning 5-5. The Lamoine Pride scored late taking the lead and the win however the young Demons should be proud of their efforts fighting until the final out.
Mason Ellington led the charge from the mound striking out 5 batters in just 2 innings; Logan Butilier walked and stole 2 bases; James England stole 2 bases and scored 2 runs; Ethan Olsen walked twice and stole 4 bases; Jake Monnier reached first on a dropped third strike and stole 2 bases; Tristan Goe waked and stole a bases; Miles Dumont walked and stole 2 bases; Josh Begin walked and stole a base; Gray Mattson reached first base as he was hit by a pitch to keep the rally alive; Lyric Cogdell, Matt Butler, Leo Saar and Michael Scholl all played great defense to keep the team in the game. It was a super fun first game with a lot of good things to build on for the young Dedham squad.
